Britain, June 24, 2016 – Search engine major, Google has reported that internet search and application for Irish passport has spiked as Britain vote to leave the European Union(EU).
SEARCH FOR IRISH PASSPORTS UP AS BRITAIN LEAVES EU
This is taking place just as 51.9 percent of British residents voted yes to leave the EU in a widely acknowledged referendum, while only 48.1 percent voted to remain in the EU.
According to Google, the overwhelming majority of the searches came from Northern Ireland.
It also reported more searches for “what happens if we leave the EU” around midnight on 23 June and for other phrases like “British independence day” and “Norway EU” .
Results of the referendum has forced the Prime Minister, David Cameron to announce his resignation. Independence of UK front the EU will be announced by UKIP, leader, Nigel Farage on Independence day.
