Nigeria, June 10, 2016 – The militant group operating in the Niger Delta, known as Niger Delta Avengers says it has destroyed the Obi Obi Brass trunk line belonging to AGIP ENI in Bayelsa.
In a statement on its tweeter page, the group said, it carried out the attack at 3am today.According to the group, the Obi Obi Brass Trunk line is AGIP’s major crude oil line in Bayelsa.
The group added that it is good that some refineries abroad have stopped buying Nigerian petroleum, stressing that the Nigerian state has been robbing the Niger Delta of her oil and gas.
The Niger Delta Avengers added that it will inform the international community when it is ready for business.
The Niger Delta Avengers which has claimed responsibility for destruction of oil installations in the Niger Delta has often restated that it is fighting to liberate the Niger Delta.
Although the Nigerian government has reached out to them for opportunity to collaborate with security agencies to guard pipelines in the region, the group said it is not interested in contract but a sovereign state.
In the time past, the group had published details of oil bloc allocation in the Niger Delta with Nigerians of northern extraction allegedly controlling 80 percent.
