Roger Federer ends Marcus Willis dream at Wimbledon

London, June 30, 2016 – Failure by Marcus Willis(25) to reenact the classic feat he recorded against Ricardas Berankis seeded 54 in world ranking ended his stay at the ongoing Wimbledon championship but with memories that will last a lifetime.

Willis seeded 772 lost to Roger Federer 0-6, 3-6, 4-6 beyond his wildest dream despite the support he had from the spectators.

The opening round win recorded by Willis who is a debutant at the Wimbledon made him the lowest-ranked qualifier to reach the second round at any Grand Slam in the last 27 years.

The win against Berankis also earned him about £50,000 after recording seven victories in the tournament.

But as he leaves he will never forget the support he received, most especially the applause when he shook hands at the net with the victor.

He could not help but to walk back to the middle of the court to acknowledge salute from the cheering spectators.
