World Boxing legend, Mohammad Ali, hospitalised




US, June 3, 2016 – World boxing icon, Muhammad Ali has been hospitalised in the US for medical attention. The boxing legend who has been diagnosed for Parkinson syndrome owing to his long spell in boxing is this time been treated for respiratory issue.

Ali, who is now 74 is however in a fair condition, his spokesperson, Bob Gunnell said, adding that Ali is being treated by his team of doctors. He is expected to spend some time in the hospital.

“A brief hospital stay is expected,” he said in the statement.
Ali, 74, was hospitalized in January 2015 for a urinary tract infection. He also was hospitalized in December 2014 with pneumonia.

Ali won an Olympic gold medal as a light-heavyweight 1960. In 1964, he became World Heavy Weight Champion when he defeated Sonny Liston by technical knockout in the seventh round when he was just 22.

Ali changed his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali after his conversion to Islam. Ali began training for boxing at the age of 12. Muhammad Ali has been out of public glare before his recent hospitalisation.
