KILLER SQUAD RIVERS UNITED STAKES AGAINST PLATEAU UNITED
Ebuka Nnaebuo who started in midfield against Sai Masu Gida on April 17 has been dropped with Godwin Obinze taking his place.
As widely expected, veteran goal keeper, Sunday Rotimi will start in goal at the Rwang Pam, Stadium, Jos while the usual back four of Chigozie Ihunda (right back), Festus Austin (left centre half), Gabriel Olalekan (right centre half) Ofem Inah (left back) all the get the nod to proceed from the get go.
Eguma has elected to start with four midfielders; Obomate Frederick and Christian Weli are the more advanced individuals while Yusuf Jaiyeola and Godwin Obinze are the double pivots.
Upfront, Guy Kuemian sits out his second successive game so joint top scorer of the club, Chukwunonso Okonkwo and feared Ghanaian marksman, Wilson Andoh both start.
Afranie Yeboah is in line to come on from the bench as is ‘Magic Seven’, Bernard Ovoke, who came on from the bench to devastating effect against Pillars in Port Harcourt last Sunday.
Also on the bench for Rivers United are Daniel ‘Payet’ Israel, Godwin Anyalogu, Ayobami Asekunowo, Chiwendu Ali and Kola Anubi.
Eguma took the time to explain his choice of personnel and tactics which he insists “will give us, at least a point”.
“We play the same way both at home and away-to attack and try to score more than the opposition.
“My choice of players today and the 4-4-2 formation which can change depending on how the game progresses is one that I trust and I am sure it will give us, at least a point in this game,” he told RIVERS UNITED MEDIA. The game between Rivers United and Plateau United will kick off by 4pm at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos.
