Flamingos of Nigeria

March 27, 2016 – Nigeria has become the latest country to qualify for the 5th FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, after the Flamingos piped hosts South Africa 1-0 at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Saturday.

Skipper Rasheedat Ajibade, who netted four in the Nigerians’ 6-0 win in the first leg in Abuja, made good again after the half-hour in the return, shooting aggregate scoreline to 7-0.

The Bantwana had no way whatsoever back into the fixture, and must have been grateful for the low scoreline outside Johannesburg as the Flamingos missed a hatful of chances.

Ajibade’s goal was her eighth in four qualifying matches, having netted three in both legs in the 9-0 whiplash of Namibia.
