Nigeria, March 23, 2016 – A lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Lagos State University(LASU) Dr. Tony Dansu has advocated that African scientists must as a matter of urgency, begin to find a permanent solution to the menace of malaria, as the disease is peculiar to Africa.

He made the assertion at a seminar on malaria control tagged “Say No to Malaria; Say No to Unhealthy Learning” organized by Amida Nurudeen Adewale, a 300 level student in the Department of Physical Health Education, Faculty of Education, Lagos State University.
Dansu, who was the special guest at the occasion said malaria is peculiar to Africa hence no white man is making efforts to find a permanent solution to it.
“It is not on the list of the ten (10) deadliest diseases in the world, yet, it is the fourth (4th) killer disease in Africa.
“That is to tell you that, it is an Africa problem. Therefore, Africans must find its cure. And one of the ways to do that is through education, which is what this seminar is about”.
In his remarks, the Guest Lecturer, Dr.[Mrs.] B. B. Idowu explored the menace of the killer, its causes, people who are susceptible to it, its impact on Africa, and possible ways of eradicating it.
He was represented by Mrs ‘Layo Abiola, a lecturer in the Faculty of Education.
