FUEL SCARCITY BITES HARDER IN LAGOS
Most of the fuel stations visited were found dispensing the product, but in an unorganized manner, forcing motorists to form three lanes, sometimes four and in the process engendering heavy traffic on the Lagos Ibadan expressway.
That was the situation at Conoil, Mobil and other petrol stations dispensing fuel along the very busy highway, our correspondent said.
He added that in some petrol stations, fuel attendants were sighted dispensing fuel in defiance of regulations.
Our correspondent reported that some of the attendants showed preference for jerry cans, adding that the result was confusion, disorderliness with many spending productive hours in long queues waiting to buy fuel.
We gathered that some trucks belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC), were spotted in large numbers heading into Lagos to get fuel for distribution.
