January 12, 2016 – The Lagos State Government today said that it will commence construction of 114 roads in the 57 local councils in the next seven days.
The Lagos State Government made the revelation at a press conference addressed by Chairman, Conference of Chairmen of 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, Hon. Kolade Alabi.
He said the project will be executed at a cost of N17.5 billion adding that the contractors, two per local government have been mobilised to site with 30 percent of total cost.
He said the project has a time line of six months based on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s projection but that all the roads could be completed before then.
He commended the governor for his kind gestures, adding that the initiative is unprecedented in the history of Lagos State and Nigeria.
He said the contractors were selected through open and competitive bidding.
Below is a list of the 114 roads, two per local government.
1.In Agege Local Government: Mathew Street in Mongoro and Famuyiwa Olayiwola street.
2.Orile Agege LGA: Ogundele Street and Fashola Street in Papa Ashafa.
3.Ajeromi : Temidire street and Molade Street.
4.Ifelodun: Iludun Street, Amukoko and Itire road, Alaba Oro.
5.Alimoso: Jolaosho Street and Alhaji Idowu Street.
6.Agbado Oke-Ado: Owodunni Street and Sotunde Street.
7.Ayobo-Ipaja: Pako Baruwa and Megida Olayemi road.
8.Egbe Idimu: Community road in Agodo and Council Street, Idimu.
9.Igando-Ikotun: Osunba Street, Igando and Balogun Olanrewaju road, Ikotun Central.
10. Mosan-Okunola: Remi Ogunjimi and 41 road, Gowon.
11.Amuwo-Odofin: Adegbola Olujibi, Adosoba road Eko Akete Road.
12. Oriade: Balogun Street, Kuje and Dillion Street.
13. Apapa: North Avenue and Caulcrick road.
14. Apapa Iganmu: Obale in Karimu Opeloye road and Amosu Street.
15. Badagry: Hundeyin Street and Hunwi Tade road.
16. Badagry West: Apa Palace road and Kweme road.
17. Olorunda: Iworo road and Morogbo-Joseph street.
18. Epe: Mallam Banture street, Papa Epe and Ajijolaiye Street, Papa Epe.
19. Eredo: Ogbe/ Iragunshin/Odogbawojo road and Church Street, Odo- Egiri.
20. Ikosi Ejirin: Ajagbe street and Hassan Odumeri street.
21. Eti-Osa East: Busola Adalemo street, Lamgbasa and Shola Omole Street.
