50 ARTISTES STORM 5 LOCATIONS FOR ‘ONE LAGOS FIESTA’

December 11, 2015 – All is now set for a grand crossover party which will literally shake-up the five regions, otherwise called Ibile in a five day celebration of entertainment tagged ‘One Lagos Fiesta’.

The ‘One Lagos Fiesta’ is nothing but an attempt to rebrand and decentralize the yearly Lagos Count Down, which parades an array of talented musicians that keeps the lively Lagos audience active all night, waiting to herald the New Year with a sea of fireworks that light up the sky.

The event is scheduled for Agege Stadium, Badagry Stadium, Ikorodu Town Hall, Lagos Barbeach and Epe Youth Centre.

Some of the artistes on the list are Olamide, TuFace Idibia, Davido, Debanj, 9ice, Tiwa Savage, Banky W, Sound Sultan, Oritsefemi, Olu Maintain, Waje, Patoranking, Whizkid, Don Jazzy, Marvin and a host of others.
The event will kick-off simultaneously in the five locations from 27th December to 1st January 2016.

Speaking in Lagos, Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Folarin Coker said the ‘One Lagos Fiesta’ is a five day celebration of entertainment with lights, fun, food and drink, comedy, dance and theatre with a strong infusion of culture of each location.

He said over 50 artistes are expected to perform for over 300 hours in each of the location to herald the year 2016.

“It will be the biggest crossover party in sub-saharan Africa he said adding that arrangement has been made for security, traffic management and sanitation, health and safety”, he said.
He said there will be a soft launch of the event on Tuesday at Freedom Park from 7pm to 10 pm, to be followed with a party at a venue yet to be announced.

He said the ‘One Lagos Fiesta’ stands for celebration of oneness of Lagos. On the logo, he said the five pillars represents the five divisions of Lagos State; the three big pillars represents the three senatorial districts while the two swerves represent the Eyo cap, the cultural heritage of Lagos State while the red, blue and yellow bubbles represent the unique colours of Lagos State
