There was no N50 million bed in Ekiti Government House – Fayemi

October 13, 2015 – Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has said that contrary to reports in the media, there are no N50 million bed in Ekiti Government House.

The former governor who was answering questions on the floor of the Senate during the ministerial screening, said that the truth is far from what has so far been published in the media.

He said that he does not believe in irresponsible behaviour and would not engage in irresponsible behaviour. He challenged all those who have contrary opinion especially, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose to bring out invoice to prove him wrong.

He said that he built the Ekiti State Government House with N2.5 billion adding that it is the cheapest government house to be built in Nigeria.

He said that when he took over power as governor of Ekiti State, Ekiti Government House was merely on a two bedroom flat adding that he was constrained to build something befitting for Ekiti since the indigene of the state are not second rate citizens after paying visit to similar structures in Akwa Ibom, Kano and others.
