95 killed as terrorists bomb peaceful rally in Turkey

October 10, 2015 – At least 95 have been confirmed dead in peace rally in the Turkish capital of Ankara while 245 others were injured when two explosion rocked a rally put together to demand an end to violence between Kurdish separatist PKK militants and the Turkish government.

Officials say about 30 people are in critical condition and that the death toll may rise.

The blasts took place near the city’s central train station as people gathered for a rally organised by leftist groups. The two explosions happened just few minutes after 10 as participants gather for the rally scheduled for 12 noon.

It was a horrible sight as TV footage showed blood and human flesh all over the scene as many run for dear life.

Prime Minister of Turkey Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu has announced three days mourning and confirmed that two suicide bombers were responsible for the attacks while President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the attack is loathsome adding that it is an act of terrorism.

He has put on hold his scheduled visit to Turkmenistan.The pro-Kurdish HDP party who were present at the rally said in a statement that its members were the main target of the bombings.

HDP leader Selahettin Demirtas has blamed the state of Turkey for the attack and has cancelled all election rallies.
