The Fulanis hacked down in Reyon Local Government, Plateau State

September 15, 2015 – There are indications that the communal feud between the Fulanis and Beroms in Plateau State will persist and will get worse by the weekend unless urgent steps are taken by the Plateau State Government led by Governor Simon Lalong to arrest the situation.

Just this morning, two Fulani cattle rearers were slaughtered by groups alleged to be  Berom farmers for leading  cattle into their farm land.

According to eye witnesses, the cattle rearers were not just killed but their manhood were dismembered and put on their mouth with machetes cuts all over their body. Their lifeless bodies were found the floor in Riyom, Local Government Plateau state this morning.

We gathered that the stage is now set for an invasion by Fulani herdsmen whom we learnt see crime of this nature as unworthy of forgiveness.

Stakeholders are calling on the governor to act fast to avoid degeneration of the present feud in the area.

A source from Berom who spoke to our correspondent said it is an age long feud adding that the Beroms believe that Fulani herdsmen are destroying their crops with the cattle and are therefore determined to eliminate any cow found on their farmland. The result has been the clash between the two groups.
