Ambode approves recruitment of 1,300 teachers for Lagos

September 2, 2015 – Not less than 1, 300 teachers are to be recruited into public primary schools in Lagos State, following approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.

Speaking in Lagos, Executive Secretary, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs. Abosede Adelaja who made the revelation said the recruitment is aimed at strengthening the quality of Universal Basic Education(UBE) programme  in Lagos State.

She explained that the exercise will also bring about a balanced workforce in
public primary schools in Lagos.

She urged enterprising and young teacher with specialization in English,
Mathematics, Yoruba, Computer, Basic Science, Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Arts & Crafts, Special Education and IRK/CRK to apply.

She stressed that applicants who must not be above 40 years of age would only be considered for employment upon the completion and submission of application forms online at www.jobs.lagosstate.gov.ng.

The Executive Secretary pointed out that all applicants must have merit grades in
Education and other core subjects including English, Mathematics, Yoruba,
Computer, Basic Science, Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Arts & Crafts Special Education and IRK/CRK.

According to her, applicants must be computer literate and be of good character adding that the successful applicants must be ready to work anywhere within the state.

She however advised non teaching staff already employed by the state
government with appropriate qualifications to apply afresh stressing that they would be screened along with others. She said that application closes on Monday, 7th September 2015.
