Fire guts Christ Embassy
August 12, 2015 – Properties worth several millions of Naira were today destroyed in an early morning fire at Christ Embassy on Billings way , Ikeja, Lagos.
We gathered that the fire which burnt down four 40 feet containers started at about 5 am. Eye witness said the fire started from a refuse dump very close to the containers which are used as stores.
Lagos State Director of Fire, Engr. Rasaq Fadipe said he received distress call few minutes to 5 am and immediately deployed two fire trucks from Alausa to the scene.
He said the four containers that later caught fire contain various electrical appliances including pumping machines and furniture. Fadipe who warned residents against careless handling of naked fire said no life was lost to the inferno.
You will recall that part of the generator house of the headquarters of the Christ Embassy Church on Kudirat Abiola way formerly Oregun road was gutted by fire in 2014 causing a very severe damage.
