Ambode, Lai Mohammed shun book launch for Fashola
August 18, 2015 – The rift between former governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, and leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) seems to widen by the day even after the former governor assisted the party to win the last governorship election.
The governor, who emptied Lagos State vault to ensure that the party won the election matching the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dollars for Dollars appears to have been abandoned by the party.
At the public presentation of three books ‘The Great Leap: Speeches Of Governor Babatunde Fashola; In Bold Print : Thoughts Of Babatunde Fashola and ‘The Lagos Blow Down,’written on Fashola by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Hakeem Bello and former Arts Editor of Daily Times/ Editor Glendora Review, Mr. Dapo Adeniyi, it was quite clear that the party leaders have abandoned the former governor.
There was no notable member of the party at the occasion. The national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was absent, Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was also absent, even the chairman of Lagos State APC, Otunba Henry Ajomale was no where to be found.
Only the Lagos state publicity secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe was present. Tinubu was however represented by Professor Tunde Samuel who was Tinubu’s former aide.
The event was however well attended by editors and media professionals who stormed the venue to identify with the authors.
The highlight of the event was the selling of the Walkie Talkie that Fashola used for the control demolition of BOI building for over N1.5 million.
