Olise sets tough condition for call up to Super Eagles

July 15, 2015 – Coach of the Super Eagles, Mr. Sunday Oliseh today set very tough condition for call up to the national team. Oliseh who was speaking at his official unveiling in Abuja, Nigeria, said that henceforth, only players plying their trade in first division clubs in Nigeria and other respectable leagues will be called to the national team.

The only exceptions are those playing age grade football. According to him, players plying their trade in the age grade soccer will be called to the national team if they show exceptional skills.

“We need players who are hungry to play”, he said, adding that in the meeting he had with NFF officials, there was an agreement for NFF to give him the general support while he agreed to be responsible. He said the NFF also raise issue about code of conduct for players and that he also made some inputs adding that the most important things is that everybody is working for the good of Nigerian football.

“We reappraised areas of jurisprudence and it is for the interest of Nigeria”, he said. He said  officials of the NFF will be in charge of getting match information about opponents which he said is needed desperately for success of the team.

He said members of his technical teams are some of the best, while the goal keeper  trainer was part of the team in golden days of the Super Eagles.
