June 4, 2015 – Nigeria’s Flying Eagles early this morning walloped North Korea 4-0 to remain in contention at the ongoing Under 20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand.

The Nigerian side went down 4 -2 to Brazil in their first leg, dashing hopes of Nigerians but the team is now back to reckoning.

All four goals came in the second half of the game.  Saviour headed home Musa Mohammed’s cross from the right for the first goal after 48 minutes. He doubled his team’s lead three minutes later when he latched on to another great pass by Awoniyi, before he held off his marker and the goalkeeper to slide the ball home.

Sokari made it 3-0 in the 70th minute when he drilled home a thunderbolt, which gave the Korea goalkeeper no chance at all.  Success, made it 4-0  in the 80 minutes after he was set up by Awoniyi.

Despite the win, Coach Manu Garba has said his boys are yet to give their best in the tournament,

“We have not got into our groove yet, we are only picking up gradually,” Garba said at a press conference.
