Supreme Court Upholds Fayose’s Election

April 14, 2015 – The Supreme Court this morning upheld decision of the Court of Appeal that validated the victory of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State.

The 7-man panel led by Justice John Fabiyi unanimously upheld the ruling of the appellate court and the Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal which earlier on upheld the victory of the Fayose.

The lead judge, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta dismissed all the grounds of appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fayose had polled 203, 090 votes to defeat then incumbent governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the APC who polled 120,433 votes in the June 22 governorship  election in Ekiti State.
