April 13, 2015 – Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has called on the Governor-elect of the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to stay connected with the people as he prepares to take over as governor of the state.
Stay Connected With Voters, Fashola Tells Ambode
Fashola who was reacting to victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos said his advice to Ambode will be in private but that the most important thing is to stay connected to the people.
“On what advise he has for the newly elected Governor, Mr. Fashola said he would not advise the Governor-Elect in the open and that whatever advise he has for him will largely be privately given and that the important thing is that he should stay connected to the people”, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr. Akeem Bello said in a statement.
Fashola thanked residents of the state for keeping faith with the model of common widespread development that gives people the dignity to compete and be the best that they can be rather than be a model of patronage a few days to an election.
According to him, the people have chosen service, competition and choice over very banal patronage a few weeks to an election and that he is very happy that all the hard work in the last eight years has been vindicated and that he is delighted that the people of Lagos with this mandate to Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode have connected with the choice and model of governance and have chosen the accelerated development where one doesn’t need to know anybody before he gets an opportunity.
