April 1, 2015 – Chadian forces waging war against the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram on Wednesday said it inflicted heavy casualties on the sect, leading to heavy losses in hundreds.

The Chadian army also lost nine members during the onslaught in Malam Fatori, one of the enclaves still under control of the sect near Nigeria’s border with Niger,Spokesman of the Chadian army, Colonel Azem Bermandoa told Reuters.
The sect had earlier been decimated by the Chadian forces and they were carrying out a mop up operation when the sect mobilized for attack.
“There was fighting and we recorded nine dead and 16 injured. There were hundreds of dead on Boko Haram’s side,”
He said the fighting had driven militants more than 10 km outside the town, which had been held by the militants since November.
