Ambode Dangles Leave Bonus as Bait for Workers
Ambode who spoke at a meeting with teachers in Lagos told them that leave bonus is part of the rudiment of what his government has for the civil servants who have been very bitter with the state government.
“Leave Bonus is part of the rudiment of what the government has for you, it is part of the package I have for you”, he promised.
Ambode made the promise even as the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has reiterated that leave bonus or allowance was part of the consolidated salary which the workers demanded for through their union and the money is now paid together with their monthly salaries.
In his address at the event, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola said Lagos State has made a lot of progress in education and that it has moved up from 10 percent in terms of performance to 50 percent.
He said the state was able to record the achievement due to effective implementation of EKO Project.
He appealed to Lagosians to turnout in large number on Saturday April 11 to cast their votes for APC candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode and other candidates of the party, saying the election is not about ethnicity or religion but performance and continuity.
Earlier, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers in the state, Mr. Adesegun Raheem had praised Fashola for fulfilling all his promises to teacher in Lagos State. He beg government to invest more in teachers to guarantee development.
