The tribunal however called on the military authority to render public apology to the Lagos State for the mayhem that followed the demise of the soldier in which several buses were torched.

The tribunal said the military personal affected died in an accident without wearing a crash helmet and that he violated sections of the Lagos State Road Traffic Act.

Presenting the report to the governor, Head of the tribunal Justice,  Ebenezer Adebajo said the tribunal was able to ascertain that the deceased soldier rode his motorcycle into a stationary BRT bus, which was reported to have been left outside the BRT corridor  after it ran out of fuel.

He said the tribunal investigated and submitted the report to avert future occurrence and that it held public hearings for nineteen times before compiling the eight volumes.

According to him, the tribunal found the management of the BRT buses culpable for abandoning the vehicle on the road and recommended  review of the agreement on the management of the buses.

Responding, Governor Fashola said the report would be deliberated upon in council, while appropriate action would be taken.

Speaking at the occasion, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola assured the tribunal  that a white paper on government decision on the report would be issued in due course.   The three man tribunal was set up seven days after the accident.
