Chevy Malibu recalled worldwide

February 14, 2015 – General Motors Co (GM) today recalled 81,123 vehicles from the United States, Canada, Mexico and the rest of the world.

The vehicles are being recalled due to concern about faulty electric power steering. Vehicles recalled are Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx and Pontiac G6 cars produced between 2006 and 2007.

According to GM about 69,633 of the affected vehicles are in the US market while the rest are in Canada, Mexico and other areas.

GM said the vehicles are recalled due to loss of steering. An accident has been recorded as a result of this challenge with one fatality but no death, GM said.
