January 9, 2015 – The Executive Committee of Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) has endorsed a proposal by the Referees Committee to set up match assessors in line with best football practices worldwide.
NFF to Set Up Match Assessors, Returns Eduok to National Team
The match assessors shall be made up of only referees. The NFF said 60 Nigerians have been trained by Federation of International Football(FIFA).
“The Committee endorsed a proposal by the Referees Committee to set up a panel of Match Assessors which shall be made up of only referees, and for which 60 Nigerians had been trained by world football –governing body, FIFA since year 2011”, the NFF said in a communique signed by Chairman NFF Media Committee, Hon. Suleiman Yahayah Kwande after an executive committee meeting in Lagos.
Part of the resolution is for the NFF to expand the Media Unit into a full Communications Department.
Executive Committee also adopted the majority report of the Members of the NFF 2014 Electoral Appeals Committee, which upheld in its entirety the NFF 2014 Elective Congress of 30th September, 2014.
“In line with the provisions of the NFF Electoral Code, which states without ambiguity that the decision of the Electoral Appeals Committee on election matters is final, the Executive Committee declared that all issues arising from the NFF 2014 Elective Congress are now fully rested.
“ In line with a directive by the NFF President, the Chairman of Technical and Development Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu presented the report of his investigation into the controversy over the transfer of Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt player, Emem Eduok.
“ The report was immediately referred to the Committee on Ethics and Fairplay for prompt and decisive action. In the meantime, the player is now free to return to the National Team camp”, it said.
The committee approved far –reaching recommendations by the Marketing, Sponsorship and Television Advisory Committee, including registration of all NFF property including marks, logos and signs; involvement of the Marketing Department and Legal Unit in negotiations on international friendly and hosting rights of other matches; commercialization of kits sponsorships in the interim following the expiration of the contract with Adidas; establishment of a compliance unit in the Marketing Department to protect all rights from ambush and non –compliance from within the NFF; appointment of more marketing consultants/agents in a new strategy to expand revenue base; and the establishment of an integrated Super Eagles’ fan base for capacity building using the website as a revenue stream.

It also composed the Establishment Committee thus: Ibrahim Musa Gusau (Chairman); Hussaini Modibbo (Vice Chairman); Sunday Dele-Ajayi (Member); Yusuf Ahmed ‘Fresh’ (Member) and; Dilichukwu Onyedinma (Member).
