January 19, 2015 – At least two people fainted when cult boys clashed in Bariga today as the campaign train of All Progressive Congress (APC) Lagos moved into the area.
Cult Boys Unleash Mayhem at APC Rally in Bariga
The victims said to be of various factions where knocked down supposedly with charms and inflicted with punches and knives.
They passed on for a moment but regained consciousness when cold water was applied on them.
The cult boys unleashed mayhem on passersby even in the presence of policemen drafted to the area stopping, searching and dispossessing passersby of their valuables.
Among their victim was a young man, Mr. Oluremi Oluyem in Advertising Department Thisday Newspaper who was dispossessed of N150,000 and his I-phone.
He told reporters that he collected the money from a local Automatic Teller Machine and boarded a motorbike only for him to be accosted and dispossessed of his belongings by the boys who were wielding machetes, charms and guns.
He said the money collected from him was meant for the advert department. Oluyemi argued with the armed gang in the midst of policeman who proved to be of little or no help to him.
The policemen had to fire several shots into the air to scare the cult boys away from the very rowdy scene.
Speaking at the campaign, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola said the state government has spent N51 billion on Federal Roads in Lagos state.
He said the state government has been funding repairs of expansion joints in the state and that so far about 33 expansion joints have been fixed.
Speaking on the economy, Fashola said that Nigeria remains the only OPEC country that is importing fuel while others are refining locally.
He condemned take-over of Third Mainland Bridge by campaign posters of President Goodluck Jonathan without making payments to local governments in the state.
He said the President could not be seeking for re-election when the over 200 girls kidnapped from Chibok Girls Grammar School are yet to be found.
In his remarks, APC Governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode called on resident to turn out enmass and vote for him as next governor of Lagos State.
