Lagos Parleys Briscoe Ford, Coscharis Motors for Greener Environment

December 12, 2014 – The Lagos State Parks and Gardens agency (LASPARK) is working with two private organisations, Briscoe Ford and Coscharis Motors to strengthen the greening Initiative of the State Government as part of a Public Private Partnership(PPP) arrangement.

The two agencies during the week handed over items and project ranging from a park to species of flowers to the state government.

While handing over the Osborne Foreshore Junction beautified by Briscoe Ford, General Manager of the organisation, Mr. Femi Eguikhide said that the gesture was in line with the Global Week of Caring Initiative of the company.

This, according to him is part of the company’s commitment to supporting environmental development in Nigeria, particularly, Lagos State, adding that other areas of possible collaboration with LASPARK are also being explored.

On its part, Cosharis Group donated 100 seedlings of Pride of Barbardos to LASPARK. Speaking at the event, General Manager of the group, Mr. Babarinde Abiona expressed satisfaction with the effort of the Lagos State Government in reinventing the lost glory of the state through the creation of modern parks, gardens, recreational centres and planting of trees.

He reiterated his organization’s desire to continuously support the agency in its efforts to sustain the greenery programmes, adding that his company would also identify other locations in the state for landscaping and beautification.

While responding, Managing Director of LASPARK, Dr. Titi Anibaba commended the two companies for identifying with the State Government in its quest for a cleaner, safer, and healthier Lagos.

While enjoining them to do more as part of their corporate social responsibilities, she called on other notable organizations in the country to join hands with LASPARK in making the state an environmental friendly destination in Africa.

The representative of Quadrant Nigeria Limited, a public relations outfit based in Lagos, Jennifer Ukoh, who facilitated the partnership, pledged her organization’s commitment to align more reputable private organizations with public interest, especially in Lagos State.
