Former HOS, Hon. Yakub Balogun Wins APC Primaries in Lagos

December 7, 2014 – Former Head of Service, Lagos State Hon. Yakub Balogun was today elected to represent the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2015 general election.

Balogun scored 238 votes to defeat his rival, Dr. Adeshina Mojisola Ogundimu who scored 39 votes.

Both candidates however embraced each other as soon as the result was announced and promised to work together as one to win the forthcoming 2015 general election.

Speaking before the announcement of the result, both aspirants pledged to abide with the outcome of the election, adding that the party APCcome first and the winning of the general election is their top priority.

Ogundimu told our correspondent after the election that “this is a pure democracy, because the people have chosen who they want to represent them and I have no problem with that, but instead, I will support the new candidate to win the general election”.

In his valedictory message, Hon Balogun who is presently representing the constituency at the Federal House of Representatives on the platform of APC gave his victory to almighty God and for his people who recognised his worth and achievements in the first tenure.

Hon Balogun who was the former Head of Service, Lagos State Government and fondly called ‘Ajoo’ also pledged to do more of the party program by giving out dividend of democracy to his people in particular and mankind in general.

At Lagos Island constituency I, about five aspirants, including the son of Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu under the platform of APC, vied for the position but the election was yet to be concluded as at the time of filing this report.
