December 11, 2014 – A four –day capacity –building seminar for media officers of National Associations in Africa ended in Cameroon on Thursday.

The programme, which had in attendance about 50 media officers out of CAF’s 54 member associations, held at the impressive CAF Centre of Excellence in Mbankomo, outside Yaounde. The centre was commissioned seven months ago by CAF President, Alhaji (Dr) Issa Hayatou, in the presence of FIFA President, Mr. Joseph Sepp Blatter.
Monday’s opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of CAF Media Committee, El HadjAnjorin Mouncharaf and Mr. Joseph Owona, the head of the Normalization Committee of the Cameroonian Football Federation, FECAFOOT.
Among the resource persons were Hans Hultman, deputy head of FIFA Communications Department (who made a presentation on General principles of organizational communications and Principles of media operations around a match) and Gerard Dreyfus, the internationally –renowned French –born journalist who has spent 40 years covering football on the African continent (who spoke on General principles of journalistic writing and Principles for coverage of sporting events).
CAF Media Director, Junior Binyam took the participants through CAF’s 2015 calendar, and Amr el Sadek of CAF Media Department elucidated on how each media chief can update his/her association’s page on the repackaged CAF website. Clementine Girard from Sportive opened windows on CAF digital media and its maximum benefits to each Member Association and its partners.
On the closing day, Alhaji Anjorin Moucharaf charged the media officers to do much more in reporting football events in their countries to the global audience.
