December 20, 2014 – There was bloodbath on Friday in North-east, Nigeria where the armed forces is battling members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

We gathered that members of the sect were massacred when they ran into an ambush laid by the armed forces between Maiduguri and Damboa leading to heavy casualty.

According to PrNigeria, the terrorists had mobilized to attack engineers deployed to restore power to parts of Borno State when they fell to the ambush.Two soldiers also died in exchange of fire.

“A large number of the terrorists died in the process while their improvised explosive device (IED) laden Hilux truck vehicle was destroyed.

“When contacted, Defence Spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade confirmed the incidents but insisted that the exact casualty figures were still being ascertained.

“During the encounter, the troops also captured a Hilux vehicle earlier stolen by the terrorists from the Borno State Ministry of Education, which they have repainted and mounted with an ant-aircraft gun”, PrNigeria said.

Weapons recovered from the sect include rocket propelled grenades and rifles. Members of the sect also died enmass in Husara where military engineers working on a bridge were attacked.

A total of four general purpose machine guns, three rifles and two Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers were captured from the terrorists during the encounter. One soldier however died while three others were wounded.
