November 16, 2014 – At seven people were today killed in Bauchi when a female bomber detonated an explosive in a market where cell phones are sold in Azare town, Bauchi.

Eye witness gave various casualty figures for the dead. Some say at least 12 people were killed while others say about 20 people were killed.

“I got to the scene immediately after the blast. I saw about 20 bodies just lying in blood. Only one person I noticed that was moving,” Shehu Aminu told Reuters.

The suicide attack took place just as the Nigeria Army has confirmed retaking Chibok from members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
“Terrorists who attacked Chibok town early yesterday have been effectively flushed out. Subsequent mopping up is still ongoing,” Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said in a statement.
