November 7, 2014 – A passenger bus on its way from Lagos Island to Ikeja today sumersaulted in Alausa right in front of the multi-agency building injuring all the passengers but two.

An eye witness told our correspondent that one of the most affected passengers was a pregnant woman whose ears was cut off and driver who came out un-hurt. We gathered that the driver disappeared as soon as the incident took place while his conductor was injured in the stomach.
According to the eye witness account, some had their limbs broken, while some had fractured legs. “Of all the passengers, only two came out unhurt”, the eye witness said.
We gathered that the vehicle was on high speed on approaching the multi-agency building when brake failed. But instead of diverting to the regular route, front gate of Ministry of Environment, he diverted to the left where commercial buses are allowed, heading towards Governor’s Driver and Shoprite. The eye witness told us that the vehicle somersaulted in attempt to turn off in high speed at the junction.
Members of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), construction workers and others however rushed to the scene and tore the vehicle open from the roof to bring out the passengers.
So far, all the passengers have been evacuated from the scene of the accident by an ambulance in the Lagos State Ambulance Bus Service to the nearby accident and emergency centre on the Lagos.
