November 5, 2014 – President of Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Pinnick told staff of the NFF on Wednesday that he has a lot of confidence in them.
‘I Am Not Your Boss’, Amaju Pinnick Tells Staff Of NFF
In a first official meeting he held with the entire personnel of the Glass House, the new NFF President espoused his vision of taking Nigeria football to new heights, and freely expressed his belief that the core of management and staff, most of whom he had known for several years, is capable of driving the vision with its abiding and abundant energy, experience and creativity.
“I am a young man with a vision, and that vision I will pursue doggedly. I have known so many of you for several years, some for close to 15 years, and I appreciate your commitment and drive.
“I want to assure you that there will be no witch-hunting. The new NFF Executive Committee that I head has brought a new way of doing things, and we know that change does not come easy. But all those who have the will to go along will be there for the whole hog.”
Charging the Management and Staff not to be afraid of making mistakes, but to acknowledge and learn from their mistakes, Pinnick harped on sustainable football culture, hardwork, creativity and excellent service delivery.
“I want you to see me as your brother, not as your boss. I am determined to improve your welfare and ensure training and re-training of staff. We have been able to secure sponsorship for capacity –building and enhancement for our elite referees and coaches. Why won’t we want to do the same for Management and Staff?
“All we ask of you is to push yourself harder and do even more than you have been doing to ensure diligence in your various areas of operation. Our approach will be scientific and guaranteed to bring results.”
Responding on behalf of Management and Staff, the General Secretary, Barr. Musa Amadu praised the NFF President for finding time to meet with the personnel, and assured the new Executive Committee of the Management and Staff’s absolute loyalty, and dedication to the project of doing things differently for better results.
“I want to state clearly that the Management and Staff have been behind the various successes of the National Teams over the years. They have remained energetic and diligent and will be even more dedicated during your tenure.
“We are enamoured by your promises to boost welfare of Management and Staff, and I can assure you that the various motivational packages will ginger them to perform even better than they have been doing over the years.”
