The encounter between Super Eagles of Nigeria and Falcons of Sudan

October 15, 2014 – The Super Eagles of Nigeria today defeated the rampaging Sudanese team 3: 1 in the African Nations Cup qualifier in Abuja, Nigeria.

But it was not a very impressive encounter as the Eagles struggled and played in an uncoordinated pattern ending the first half goalless.

It was in the second half that the Eagles woke up and put up a spirited fight leading to a goal by Ahmed Musa in the 48th minutes. The Abuja National Stadium went wild in jubilation. But the celebration was cut short when the Falcons of Sudan equalized in 55 minutes through a goal scored by Salah Ibrahim.

Samuel Aaron dashed the hope of the Falcons once more when he made it 2:1 in the 65 minutes before Ahmed Musa rounded up the game with the third goal
