Seven Ministers Resign in Nigeria to Contest 2015 General Elections

October 15, 2014 – At least seven ministers in the Federal Executive Council(FEC) have resigned to enable them contest for the 2015 general elections.

The seven ministers according to Premium Times include Ministers of Information, Labaran Maku, that of Trade and Industry, Samuel Ortom, Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike; and State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

Also on the list are Ministers of Labour, Emeka Wogu; Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu; State for Niger Delta, Dairus Ishaku.

Speculations became rife last week that some of the ministers are planning to resign to enable them pursue their political ambition.
