Nigeria’s Super Falcons Beat Cameroon 2 -0 in AFCON Finals

October 25, 2014 – The Super Falcons of Nigeria today defeated the Cameroonian side 2 -0 to lift the trophy at the CAF organised African Women championship in Windhoek, Namibia.

The victory makes the Falcons African champion for 7th time. They won the trophy 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014.

The Falcons took the lead in the first half through goals from Desire Oparanozie and Azizat Oshoala and held on to the goal margin till end of 90 minutes.
The Cameroonian side put up a hard fight but could not find the back of the Falcons’ net.

In the earlier match, Cote’d’Voire defeated South Africa 1 -0 to lift the bronze medal. The four teams have by the feat qualified for 2015 Women World Cup.
