Lagos Begins Screening of Indigenes for Award of Scholarship

October 31, 2014 – The Lagos State Scholarship Board is now set to conduct 2013/2014 local scholarship screening test for indigenes of Lagos State as part of efforts to make things easy for parents to educate their children and ward.

Secretary, Lagos State Scholarship Board, Mrs. Omauton Yetunde Jegede, who made the revelation, said government annually gives the award to support indigent but brilliant students studying in various tertiary institutions across the country.

Jegede noted that interested applicants must fulfill certain requirements including evidence that the applicant is an indigene of Lagos State and must also possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate of 3.50 and above (Upper Credit) before being considered for the award.

She disclosed that students with First Class grade and disable ones are automatically qualified for the award.

The Secretary announced that the test, which will be conducted by a private consultancy firm, will be computer based and will hold between 2nd and 4th of December, 2014.

He said that successful applicants will later be invited for oral interview. Value of the scholarship is N200, 000 for undergraduates, N300, 000 for Master’s Degree and N400, 000 for pursuing their doctorate degree.
