October 19, 2014 – With just $23.5 million, Fury emerged the most patronized film in the US box office sales but the figure was not too impressive compared to records at the big screen.
Fury Rakes $23.5m to Emerge Most Patronised Film in US Box Office
Put together by Sony Pictures, the film passed through 3, 173 film viewing centres in the US to emerge as the most patronized film in box office sales.
In the second position is Gone Girl which was number 1 last week. The film raked in $17.8 million to hang on to the second position in box office sales. But a new film, The Book of Life produced by Fox Pictures made it to the third position at the weekend. The film made $17 million from 3,070 viewing centres in the US to be among the top three films in the box office chart.
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day which was number 3 last week was pushed into the 4th position after sales fell to $12.039 million at the weekend.
The Best of Me, a new film just hitting the box office managed to hang on to the 5th position after making $10.2 million from 2, 936 theatres where it was exhibited in the US.
Other new films that made it to the box office during the week include Birdman, Dear White People, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, The Golden Era, Rudderless, Listen Up Philip, Art and Craft and God The Father.
