COWLSO Warns Women against Use of Microwave Oven, Energy Bulbs

September 24, 2014 – Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has warned Nigerians, especially women to desist from the use of electromagnetic equipment (EMR) like microwave ovens fake energy conserving bulbs.

COWLSO made the revelation in a communique issued at the end of a three days conference in Lagos. It said stressing that there is a correlation between energy conservation and health.

It also called on the Federal Government to build more refineries in the country as part of effort to mitigate the problem of fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
There are presently four refineries in Nigeria, two in Port Harcourt, one in Warri and one in Kaduna with a combined capacity to produce 445,000 bpd.

The organisation also called on women general to imbibe the habit of writing their wills under the guidance of a lawyer with integrity adding that joint title of property and personal ownership of property by women should be encouraged.

It called on women to discourage the habit of sending out their children to hawk during school hours and that where hawking becomes inevitable children should hawk under supervision of elders only after school hours.

COWLSO also emphasized the role of vision in the plans of women and encouraged them to identify a mentor and go for him or her.

“For you to succeed, you must first have a plan or vision, identify a mentor, go for him or her, share your ideas with your mentor and listen to his advice”, stressing that the key to total balanced life or total well being remain healthy good, exercise and meditation.

Earlier in her speech, Chairman of COWLSO, Dame Abimbola Fashola expressed optimism that the conference would continue to fulfill the mission of providing credible platform for Nigerian women to be informed, inspired and empowered to achieve their full potentials.
