August 24, 2014 – Guardians of the Galaxy rebounded to the top spot in Box Office sales at the weekend after sliding into the second position when sales rallied to $17, 631 after passing through 3,371 viewing centres in the US to hit number one on the chat.
Guardians of the Galaxy Displaces Ninja Turtles in Box Office Sales
At number 2 is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which was number one last week. Put together by Paramount Pictures, the film made $16.8 million after passing through 3, 864 film viewing centres in the US to clinch the second spot on the chart.
If I Stay, a new film just hitting the Box Office made it into the top three spot when sales hit $16.355 million after passing through 2,907 theatres in the US. It’s a production of Warner Brothers. In the 4th spot is Let’s Be Cops which was number three last week. Let’s Be Cops made $11 million from the 3,140 theatres where it was exhibited in the US.
When the Games Stand Tall which is also new on the Box Office scene made it into the top 5 spot on the chart. Put together by TriStar, the film garnered $9million after passing through 2, 673 theatres in the US to emerge as one of the top five films of the week.
Other new films that also hit the Box Office chart during the week are Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Love is Strange and The One I Love.
