We must now choose the treaty obligations that we hold under the ECOWAS treaty and perhaps short term benefits in terms of economic cost to human life. We must make that choice and consider it very seriously. It is a national security issue and I think that we should give it that attention

August 1, 2014 – Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has called on the Federal Government to look at the imperative of shutting some of the nation’s border as part of efforts to protect Nigerians from contracting the dread Ebola Virus Disease.

Fashola who was addressing State House Correspondent in Lagos explained that since lives are involved the Federal Government must begin to review standing bilateral treaties with neighbouring nations.

We must make that choice and consider it very seriously. It is a national security issue and I think that we should give it that attention”, the governor said.

He commended First Consultant for professionalism in handling the issue and called on other hospital to emulate their example.
