July 7, 2014 – There are indications that the deadly Ebola virus which has killed over 460 people since February this year has hit Accra, Ghana, West Africa.

Concern about the virus were rife Monday following a statement from Ministry of Health in Ghana that symptoms associated with Ebola have been found in patient at Nyaho Clinic, Accra.

The statement added that the patient and staff at the clinic have been quarantined and provided with protective covering.

“We expect the general public to remain calm as we wait for the result of blood sample taken for test”, the statement, signed by Tony Goodman, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health said.

Ebola is said to be borne by bats and the ailment so far has no cure. Symptoms include nose bleeding, high fever and damage to the central nervous system.
The virus broke out in Guinea February this year and later spread to Liberia and Sierra Leone.
