July 27,2014 – The film Lucy , put together by Universal Pictures took the lead at the US box office at the weekend, returning sales to the tune of $44.025 million from 3,173 film viewing centres in the United States.
Lucy Takes the Lead, as Cumulative Sales Figure Drops in US Box Office
Hercules, which is also making a debut at the box office made it to number two on the chart when it rewarded Paramount Pictures with the sum of $29 million from 3,595 cinema outfit where it was exhibited in the US.
The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which is three weeks old at the box office was the third most patronized movie during the week. The film made $16.4 million after passing through 3, 668 theatres in the US to make it to number three on the chart.
The Purge: Anarchy, put together by Universal pictures occupied the forth position on the chart. The film made $9.896 million from 2, 856 viewing centres where it was exhibited in the US. Planes: Fire & Rescue put together by Buena Vista made $9.303 million after touring 3,839 to make it into the league of top five films in the US.
Other film films that also made it to the box office include, And So It Goes, A Most Wanted Man, The Fluffy Movie, Magic in the Moonlight and A Master Builder.
