Brazil Beats Columbia 2:1, Meets Germany in Semi-final

July 4, 2014 – The Brazilian team on Friday cruised into the semi-final after beating Columbia 2:1. Brazil will now meet Germany in the semi-final stage to determine who will lift the golden cup.

Brazil opened the score line in the first half with Thiago Silva in the 7th minutes while David Luiz consolidated on that position in the 69th minutes in the second half.

James Rodriguez drew one back through a penalty kick in the 80th minutes, bringing the game to an end on a 2:1 score-line. Brazil will now meet Germany on Tuesday in the Semi-final.

On the whole the Brazilian team controlled the match with ball possession of 51 to 49 percent.
