July 28, 2014 – At least 50 villagers were feared killed in Adamawa State on Sunday when members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram invaded three local governments in the state.

Among those killed are four soldiers who died in gun battle with the sect. According to report monitored on Channels, the militants stormed Garkida town, a border town between Adamawa and Borno state very close to Sambisa forest, acclaimed hideout of the sect.
Residents said the sect stormed the town at 5pm on Sunday evening, over powered security forces and laid siege on the community.
We gathered that several residents were killed in the attack while two churches and houses were burnt.
The gun men also attacked Madagali and Hong Local government killing scores of people and carting away food items.
A local village head, Wing Captain Dauda Daniel rtd, believed to have been whisked away has been declared missing since the attack.
Meanwhile, Acting Governor of the state Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reassured the communities that government is working with the security forces to halt attacks by Boko Haram.
