Chairman of the party, Mr. Taofic Gani made the allegation in a press statement in Lagos and called on all relevant anti-corruption agencies to investigate and prosecute the Lagos State government for illegal diversion of public funds.
Gani spoke just as the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun has accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of planning to rig this Saturday’s election in Ekiti State. Chief Oyegun made the statement yesterday in Abuja while delivering his inaugural speech at the inauguration of the APC’s new executives.
The APC chieftain further raised alarm about series of developments fueling the party’s suspicion of PDP’s intent to rig the election especially that of Tuesday, June 17th, 2014 when two loaded aircraft landed at the Akure airport with undisclosed contents coupled with the presence of the Minister of State for Defence, Musliu Obanikoro who the APC suspects was on ground to ensure the safe delivery of the mysterious cargo.
Chief John Oyegun who appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that a free and fair election is conducted in Ekiti, also condemned the incident last week, when a truck was intercepted with over two hundred boxes of electoral materials by security agents saying that again is another unhealthy sign of what is to be expected at the polls.
