She said that musicians, actors, producers, editors and all those involved in any production play vital role in the development of Lagos State.
“Many studies show that economic prosperity and growth lies in the ability of a city to attract artistes to the urban core”, she said, stressing that the presence of artists attracts workers in other discipline.
“As a hub of actors and musicians, the computer industry, social media, visual arts, fashion etc, have followed the flow and creativeness of our actors and musicians to Lagos”, she said, adding that the development demands for facilities and resources that would enhance and improve the standard of living such as entertainment, cinemas, restaurants, night clubs and shopping mall.
According to her, cities that attracted large number of artistes experience economic growth since other industries have interest in their creative and innovative activities.
She explained that creativity and innovation leads to invention adding that a production group based in Lagos won laurels for Nigeria at the Olympics for staging a play adapted from one of the plays authored by William Shakespeare.
