Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero is dead. He died Friday morning. He was 83.
He has been ill after surviving an attack by the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram, who laid an ambush on him in January 19, 2013.
He will be buried at 4:00 p.m. according to Islamic rites. The Walin of Kano, Mahe Bashir announced the passing away of the monarch.
Already Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Musa Kwankwaso, who was in Port Harcourt, Rivers State for the Governors Forum’ programme has left for Kano .
Born July 25, 1930, he was appointed Emir on October 22, 1963. He is expected to be succeeded by former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who is currently in court on allegation of corruption.
