Ekiti 2014: Only 476,870 Electorates Are Eligible to Vote Today – INEC

June 21, 2014 – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Ekiti State has said that only a total of 476,870 electorates are expected to vote today to elect a new governor for the state.

The figures represent those who carry current permanent INEC voter’s cards
Spokesman for INEC in the state, Mr. Taiwo Gbadegesin said only those with the card will be allowed to vote today. He said 732, 166 cards were ready but that only 476,870 cards have been collected by the owners.

He said his INEC officials will be able to get to all the polling stations in the state in a period of 45 minutes and that elections are expected to be free and fair.
