Traffic situation in Surulere, Lagos is expected to be chaotic with effect from Saturday when the Lagos State Government will shut both side of Masha Road for 10 days to enable her contractor, Messrs CCECC carry out repairs on weak expansion joints of the bridges in the area.

The repair works will commence from Saturday 10th May, 2014 and terminate on Friday 30th May, 2014.

As part of the Traffic Management strategies during the exercise on Bridges along Alhaji Masha Road vehicular movement in both directions would be restricted, Commissioner for Transportation, Comrade Kayode Opeifa said in a statement.

“Similarly, vehicles moving inward Alhaji Masha Road will use the service lane during the maintenance work”, he explained and advised motorists and others to use alternative routes to avoid delays.

He called on road users to cooperate by obeying all traffic regulations so as to ensure easy flow of traffic in the area and regretted the inconvenience that would be caused by the closure.
